Thisfunctional was envisioned to become a global label designed to support and encourage individuals from all over the world to embrace their own creativity, hobbies, passions, etc. and to share it all with the world. Thisfunctional was not designed to fall in to a specific niche, but rather to embrace every niche. We support the freedom and promotion of self-expression, creativity, and passion. We hope you will join our global community of individuals that support the sharing of ideas, skills, and talents in a creative movement to end the need for conformity. Thisfunctional promotes the unique brilliance in every individual as well as the amazing things they can create as a unit.
Where it come from playa?
Co-founded in 2010 in San Diego, CA by Aroon Kazem and Bak Qadeer, Thisfunctional is a lifestyle clothing company inspired by the founders’ love for hanging out with their friends and expressing and embracing each other’s distinct ideas, skills and talents. After first trying their hand at starting up an online clothing store offering a variety of unique underground brands, the two eventually decided to start their own t-shirt company and screen printing shop in Bak’s garage. With an open-door policy to the shop for their friends to hang out, what resulted was ultimately a melting pot of creativity and inspiration that has now transformed in to a full-fledged men’s clothing line offering unique pieces and clever designs that know no boundaries. Thus, Thisfunctional was born. Team members were added, duties assigned, and the sails set full forward with the hope of launching a brand that would one day become a global family of imaginative and creative individuals. Thisfunctional hopes to encourage every individual to embrace their own brilliance and express it to the world.
